Kevin Teater - Executive Director
Kevin came to the BDA in 2018 from North Carolina, where he was a project manager with the Asheville Design Center, an urban planning and design nonprofit. Kevin has a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is passionate about making communities that are sustainable, equitable, and livable for all.
In his free time, he enjoys riding his bike, playing tennis, watching movies, and walking his dog, Stumpy.
Our Board of Directors
Our Board of Directors is comprised of 9-15 community members who are passionate about making downtown Beaverton a better place for us all.
Kirsten Agard - Board Chair
Kirsten Agard is a VP, Home Lending Manager at Umpqua Bank. She joined the Board in 2019 and has been Board Chair of the BDA since January 2020. Kirsten is passionate about preserving the downtown area and serving local businesses.
Paul Cohen - Vice Chair
Paul Cohen, an original Board member of the BDA, is the owner of Travel by Paul and a full-time volunteer. Paul has held various positions within the BDA including: Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary, and Economic Committee Chair. Paul originally joined the BDA and was inspired by its mission while working as a partner alongside his wife at Art on Broadway.
Daniel Hadi - Secretary & Youth Representative
Daniel is a student at Mountain High School and joined the BDA Board of Directors in January 2021 as our designated Youth Representative. Daniel is very civically-engaged, having supported recent political campaigns and advocacy efforts. He also serves as our Secretary, keeping records and minutes organized.
Felicia Kilger - Treasurer
Felicia is the VP of Home Lending Accounting at Umpqua Bank. Felicia brings attention to detail and expert financial knowledge to her role as Treasurer, which she has filled since April 2021.
Zachary Mettler - Design Committee Chair
Zachary became our Design Committee Chair in June 2021 after interning with us for a full year and then completing his Master of Urban and Regional Planning from Portland State University. Zachary brings creativity and a passion for healthy cities to this role.
Joanne Miller - Economic Vitality Committee Chair
Joanne is the co-owner of Winehaus Marketing in downtown Beaverton. She joined the Board in May 2021. Her leadership and extensive experience in business-to-business relations and marketing is a welcome addition to our team.
Nicole Feightner - Organization Committee Chair
Nicole Feightner works in Human Resources at Nike and has lived in the Beaverton area since 2014. Nicole joined the BDA in the spring of 2019 helping behind the scenes with events such as the Wine Walk and BOOverton before joining the Organization Committee later that fall. Nicole helped lead the strategic planning workshop in January 2020 and has led the Organization Committee since May 2020.
Kristin Spear - Promotions Committee Chair
Kristin is the co-owner of Winehaus Marketing in downtown Beaverton. She joined the Board in April 2021 and brings great passion for web design and community promotion.
Carina Comer - At-Large Board Member
Carina owns Carina’s Bakery on 1st Street and has been a Board member since March 2021. In addition to her business expertise, Carina brings a compassionate focus on equity, especially regarding disability and accessibility.
Lisa Tran - At-Large Board Member
Lisa is the owner of Tan Tan Cafe & Delicatessen on Broadway Street. After emigrating from Vietnam, Lisa’s family founded Tan Tan (New Beginnings), where she has worked since she was a student at Beaverton High School.
Michael Wong - At-Large Board Member
Michael is the founder and editor of the Beaverton Resource Guide. He’s one of the most knowledgeable and passionate people for sharing and preserving Beaverton’s history. He serves as the president of the Beaverton Historical Society as well as the Beaverton Library Foundation. He spends his time promoting local businesses, especially downtown businesses, as much as possible.
Stacey Kwong - At-Large Board Member
Stacey is the co-owner of Milk+T on Angel Avenue. Stacey joined the Board in April 2021 and is passionate about helping entrepreneurs start new businesses. She loves boba, so be on the lookout for bubble tea-themed events, which she is leading.
Stewart Straus - At-large Board Member
Stewart Straus is the owner of and architect at Stewart Gordon Straus Architect PC in Beaverton Central. Stewart has a bachelor’s degree in architecture from UC Berkley, and has served on the BDA Board since 2011. Currently an at-large member, Stewart has previously held the positions of Chair, Vice Chair, and Design Committee member. After completing 18 years on the Board of Design, Stewart decided to get involved with the BDA to continue serving in a community development organization.
Rachel Thieme - At-Large Board Member (non-voting)
Rachel is a City of Beaverton employee in the Economic Development Department. As a non-voting Board member, Rachel represents the City and acts as our liaison into the City government. Rachel previously managed a downtown district in New York before starting her current role with the City of Beaverton.
